On 12-12-2016 in Vung Tau City, Petro Vietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) and Solar Turbines International Company (SOLAR) held a seminal to evaluate the results of the 2-year implementation under the Master Maintenance Service Agreement which arms to the maintenance and repair of the entire gas turbine engines for oil & gas projects in Viet Nam.
At the seminal, PVEP and SOLAR and representatives from oil and gas operators evaluated the practical effects of the framework agreement, and discussed solutions to further develop the scope and effectiveness of this collaborative approach.
The operation of the MMSA has created an environment for partners to exchange the experiences, train the qualified technicians to meet international operating standards, regional compliance management, cost saving, incident preventions, and to achieve the petroleum production target of PVEP and PVN. For the past 2 years, this model of operation has brought a more positive and outstanding effect than any other individual agreement previously, on both technical and economic aspect.
The other operators including Cuu Long JOC, Korea National Operating Company, Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company, Bien Dong POC, TNK / Rosneft Vietnam, PTSC Production Services – after moving to MMSA, not only having better management on their machines and equipment, but also getting benefit from sharing spare parts between themselves. By sharing same type of parts, these operators will have spare part in due time to meet their production plans, this has more advantage of minimizing warehouse stocking and inventory. For Solar’s side, this helps to reduce number of time that Solar’s personnel to travel offshore.
In addition to the realistic benefits for operators to improve the quality of maintenance and repair services, the agreement also guarantee to supply genuine parts, perform periodical technical maintenance, overhaul, and replace turbines engines.
Said Dr. Hoang Xuan Vu – Head of Equipment Maintenance, PVEP technical committee, who follow and implement directly with this framework from the beginning, that the deployment of MMSA in all PVEP projects not only bringing technical and economic benefit, but also improving the working hours of the gas turbines, ensuring maximum exploitation time, reducing maintenance and repair and technical training costs. For such reasons, PVEP will continue to expand this effective cooperation in future in order to optimize, reduce operating costs, exploit absolutely safe on all operating projects.
